Horizontal lines across the forehead are treated two ways on the Exion platform, and BTL's gallery shows the forehead for the needle applicator. The Face applicator warms the skin with radiofrequency and targeted ultrasound to tighten it with nothing through the skin. Fractional RF delivers the heat through fine needles where lines are etched. Four sessions of the Face applicator or one to three of Fractional RF, at Exion Clinic, 8 Devonshire Place, with the price in writing at a free consultation.
What it does on the forehead
The skin of the forehead is thin over bone, and the clinician sets the applicator and the depth for it. In our experience etched lines soften as collagen rebuilds under them, and the skin tightens over the weeks after the course. Lines that show only when the brow moves are a muscle question and a dropped brow is a lifting question; the clinician says which, and names the treatment for each, at the free consultation.
The evidence
BTL's own gallery shows the Fractional RF applicator on the forehead, and no study measures the forehead alone, and we say so. The Fractional RF page sets out the needle applicator.
The session and who it suits
Skin cleaned, a conductive gel for the Face applicator or numbing cream for Fractional RF, and the handpiece moved across the forehead, in our experience about 20 minutes. The skin is pink and warm afterwards, with one to three days of redness after Fractional RF. Someone with etched forehead lines or loosened skin there. Not with an electronic or metal implant, and in our practice not in pregnancy or breastfeeding or over an active skin problem. The sessions page sets out the course.
