Exion Face in London

Exion Face is the applicator for the skin of the face, the neck and the upper chest (décolletage). Radiofrequency through the handpiece, with a return pad on the body, warms the skin to 40 to 45°C while targeted ultrasound is added. Together they heat the deep layers of the dermis, which BTL says stimulates fibroblasts, the skin's repair cells. The skin answers by making more of its own hyaluronic acid. In the 2025 human study, hyaluronic acid was up 49% at one month and 68% at three months in the three adults treated with both energies, against 7% and 10% with radiofrequency alone, with discomfort rated 2.3 out of 10 and no adverse events. What it does

Firmer, smoother, better hydrated skin, with the glow that hyaluronic acid gives, across the face, the neck and the chest. It does not lift a face that has dropped, add volume or remove a fold of loose skin. What the study measured

• 7 adults aged 51 to 64, 2025: four sessions 7 to 14 days apart, up to 60 minutes each. In the three treated with radiofrequency and targeted ultrasound, hyaluronic acid in the skin was up 49% at one month and 68% at three; in those treated with radiofrequency alone, 7% and 10%. Discomfort 2.3 out of 10 against 5.3. No adverse events. Collagen and elastin were not analysed.

The session

Skin cleaned, a conductive gel, and the handpiece moved in slow passes over each zone while the console holds the temperature in range: deep, even warmth, and you can talk. In our experience a face takes up to an hour. The skin is pink and warm afterwards and you go back to your day; makeup can go on the same day in our practice. Who it suits

Skin that has lost firmness, glow or texture, from the thirties on. The US label sets no skin type limit for Face and Body, and the studies did not include darker skin, so the clinician assesses yours first. Not over hair or scar tissue, not with an electronic or metal implant, and in our practice not in pregnancy or breastfeeding or over an active skin problem; the eyelids and lips are not treated.
