The banana roll is the fold of fat that sits just under the crease of the buttocks, at the top of the back of the thigh. In our practice it is treated with the Body applicator, both sides in one session. It warms the skin and the layer beneath with radiofrequency and targeted ultrasound with nothing through the skin. BTL's gallery shows no banana roll image and no study measures it, and we say so plainly. Four sessions, at Exion Clinic, 8 Devonshire Place, with the price in writing at a free consultation.
What it does on the banana roll
In our experience the fold thins and the skin over it firms as the warmth works over the weeks after the course, so the crease sits cleaner. A firm fold you can pinch is also a fat-freezing question at our sister clinic, where the banana roll is a cleared area, and the clinician says at the free consultation which fits or whether both do.
The evidence
No BTL wording or study names the banana roll, and we say so. The 2026 study of 23 patients with a device matching Exion Body, the fat layer 22.5% thinner at three and six months, stands for the mechanism rather than as a promise for the fold. The body page sets it out.
The session and who it suits
Skin cleaned, a conductive gel, and the handpiece moved in passes under each buttock while the console holds the temperature at 40 to 45°C, in our experience about 20 minutes for both sides. The skin is pink and warm afterwards. Someone whose weight is steady with a fold under the buttocks they want smaller. Not over scar tissue, not with an electronic or metal implant, and in our practice not in pregnancy or breastfeeding or over an active skin problem. The sessions page sets out the course.
