The thin skin of the forearm crepes with sun and age, and in our practice it is treated with the Face applicator, which warms the skin with radiofrequency and targeted ultrasound with nothing through it. Both forearms are treated in one session, often with the hands. BTL's gallery shows no forearm image and no study measures it, and we say so plainly. Four sessions, at Exion Clinic, 8 Devonshire Place, with the price in writing at a free consultation.
What it does on the forearms
The skin is warmed to the temperature at which, in BTL's account, it builds collagen, and in our experience the crepey texture tightens and thickens over the weeks after the course. It does not fade sun spots, which Lumecca at our sister clinic treats, and the clinician plans the combination at the free consultation.
The evidence
No BTL wording or study names the forearms, and we say so; the mechanism is the one BTL describes for the Face applicator. The hands page covers the hands.
The session and who it suits
Skin cleaned, a conductive gel, and the handpiece moved along each forearm while the console holds the temperature, in our experience about 20 minutes for both; the skin is pink and warm afterwards, with sunscreen on the arms. Someone with crepey skin on the forearms who wants it to match treated hands. Not with an electronic or metal implant, and in our practice not in pregnancy or breastfeeding or over an active skin problem. The sessions page sets out the course.
